Becoming a Better Choice Maker

Making choices is the most important thing we do.

Our choices determine what we say, how we treat other people,

how hard we work, whether we are kind and polite, whether we are honest and trustworthy,

and ultimately what we accomplish with our life.

We all need to stop and take stock of our choice-making performance now and then.

We need to determine if we're making good and independent choices,

or if our choices are being overly influenced by friends or what we read on the internet.

The Good Choice Library reflects fundamental values and personal practices that are important in life.

Our objective is to help people "be a little better" through the choices they make.

To accomplish that task, we provide our users with two important resources.

The Importance of Our Choices

Our Choices Make the Difference

Our choices are the primary factors that determine whether we develop a meaningful life or create disappointments for ourselves and others. The choices we make over time determine the kind of person we are, the quality of the life we will live and ultimately what we achieve. It just makes good sense to become the best choice makers we can be. The 52 choice reviews (lessons) in The Good Choice Library were developed to help you do exactly that.

Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.

John C. Maxwell

Young People. Young people today are being inundated with all kinds of information on the internet.  Some of it is helpful, but much of it is detrimental to them. The reviews in The Good Choice Library provide young people with opportunities to offset the impact of internet "information” and learn choice-making principles that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Parents Teaching Children. The fundamental role of parents is to teach their children how to make good choices on their own. The Good Choice Library helps parents identify choices that are of great importance and provides points, facts, examples, and other information to help parents develop the choice-making abilities of their children.

Families Studying Together. This a great way for families to spend quality time together reviewing and discussing specific choices and the importance of each. By devoting special times to this family activity, children are much more likely to come to understand the importance of the choices they make.

Yes, Older Folks, Too! We never outgrow the need to make good choices. The Good Choice Library provides an opportunity for us “older ones” to head back to school, so to speak, and review many of the choices that are fundamental to developing and maintaining a meaningful life.

What Others Say

While I wholeheartedly enjoyed the library as a parent, I enjoyed it as an individual as well and found myself reflecting on my own choices. It will be helpful to one and all who are educated through it and with it.

Rena G. – Parent

I love the idea of a library like this. It addresses why our actions and our honesty are so important and how ineffective lip service can be. We can talk about taking action all day long, but doing it (making the choice) is what is important.
